Robert Fyfe (born 25th September 1930 in Kirkcaldy, Fife; died 15th September 2021 in Southwark, London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in June 1966 as a heavy named Sid; and he returned to the programme forty-six years later in December 2012 as school crossing patrol officer Malcolm Lagg.

After formal education, he studied English literature at Edinburgh University but dropped out to train for the acting profession at the Northern Theatre School in Bradford, graduating in 1954.

He was perhaps best known to television viewers as henpecked husband Howard on the BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine, a role he played from 1985 until the programme ended in 2010. Other credits include The Big Pull, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, Moonstrike, Z Cars, No Strings and Carters Get Rich.

Film roles include Gaolbreak, Xtro, The 51st State, Around the World in 80 Days, Babel, Burke and Hare and Cloud Atlas.

On stage, he appeared in several productions for the Farnham Repertory Company. Other works include Captain Carvallo, The Game of Love and Chance, The Tinker, Aladdin, Fiddlers Three, No Room for Love, The Power and the Glory and Habeas Corpus.
