Renny Lister (born Renee Solomon on 24th May 1934 in Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street between April and October 1961 as Elliston's Raincoat Factory worker Jean Stark, who lodged temporarily with Christine Hardman at No.13.
She made her television debut with ten episodes of the 1958 BBC drama Starr and Company and went on to appear in Boyd Q.C., Skyport, Kipps and Knight Errant Limited.
Continuing to act after leaving the programme, amongst other roles, played a variety of parts in several episodes of Z Cars, Dixon of Dock Green and Don't Forget to Write!. She has also had appearances in Crown Court, Grange Hill, the wartime serial Christabel, Holding On and The New Worst Witch. Film roles include The Curse of the Werewolf (as Oliver Reed's date), Dead Man's Chest, A Touch of the Other and Personal Services.
On stage, she appeared in a production of The Lion in Love at the Royal Court Theatre, London.
Renny's second husband was the late actor Kenneth Cope, who she met whilst filming Coronation Street. Their children include the actress Martha Cope who herself appeared on the programme in December 2015 and January 2016 as Joanne, a date of Kevin Webster's who he met on a singles' night.
