Reginald Albert Marsh (born "Reginald Albert Saltmarsh" on 17th September 1926 in Greenwich, London; died 9th February 2001 in Ryde, Isle of Wight) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in March 1961 as football talent scout Mr Lawther; and he returned to the programme in irregular appearances between September 1962 and January 1976 as cockney betting shop owner Dave Smith.

In between two of these stints, he also appeared in a more "upper-class" role in The Visitor, a 1965 episode of the spin-off comedy Pardon the Expression.

Marsh grew up in Worthing and worked in a bank as a school-leaver. He began his acting career in repertory shortly thereafter and was in regular work on television throughout. He was a regular guest star in sitcoms in the 1970s, tending to play combative authority figures in shows such as The Good Life, George & Mildred and Terry and June, the latter part being essentially recreated in the 1990s when he appeared alongside June Whitfield in a guest role on Terry and Julien. Other television credits include Murder Bag, The Army Game, Crime Sheet, Here's Harry, No Hiding Place, Family Solicitor, The Cheaters, Compact, Z Cars, The Avengers, The Plane Makers, Dixon of Dock Green, The Newcomers, The Saint, Never Say Die, Emmerdale Farm, Crown Court, Sykes, Crossroads, Bread, Searching and Mr. Wymi.

Film roles include Two Letter Alibi, Mess Mates, The Day the Earth Caught Fire, Shadow of Fear, The Sicilians, Berserk, Young Winston, Sky Pirates and Three Kinds of Heat.

On stage, he appeared in RSC productions of Henry VIII, Julius Caesar, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, Richard II, Henry IV, Henry V and A Patriot for Me, along with productions of Heaven and Charing Cross, Sweet Madness, Engaged, The Chairman, Relatively Speaking, The Phantom of the Opera, Home at Seven and The Curse of the Werewolf.

Marsh was married to former actress, Rosemary Murray.
