Raymond Murtagh appeared on Coronation Street in January 1990 as Rod Fielding, an accountant working on behalf of Ken Barlow.
His other credits include roles in Crown Court, Killer, Doctor Who, Juliet Bravo, and also penned the script for the 1994 TV movie Requiem Apache.
While on stage, he appeared in a production of Typhoid Mary at the New Vic, Bristol.
