Ray Mort (born 10th January 1926 in Bury, died 4th July 1994, also in Bury) appeared on Coronation Street sporadically between December 1960 and November 1964 as insurance agent Ron Bailey - (also referred to as Harry Bailey).
He made his television debut in 1956 in ITV's Play of the Week and went on to appear in many productions over a long career including Armchair Theatre, Taxi!, The Plane Makers, No Hiding Place, The Wednesday Play, Dixon of Dock Green, Z Cars, Doomwatch, Follyfoot, South Riding, The Sweeney, Softly Softly: Task Force, The Survivors, a regular role in the Bill Maynard comedy Oh No, It's Selwyn Froggitt, Crown Court, Juliet Bravo, Bergerac, Only Fools and Horses, Lovejoy, Casualty, All Creatures Great and Small, The Bill and Minder.
Stage roles include parts in Nil Carborundum, Spring and Port Wine and The Little Mrs Foster Show.
Radio work includes The Weavers, Midweek Theatre, Afternoon Theatre, The Dales, The Sailor, The World of the Young and The Fishing Party.
