Actor Ralph Gassmann was born 19th March, 1977 in Zurich, Switzerland and played Justin Turner on Coronation Street in 2009.

He trained as an actor at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester where he also gained his first professional experiences on the stage as the lead in Hamlet and in other public performances. After graduation he appeared in various stage productions in the North of England and acted in a number of UK films and television series. During this period, he was also given his first dramatic lead in the feature film Dario M and was subsequently nominated for Best Lead Performance at the Swiss National Film Prize 2004.

On stage he appeared in the original line up of Blonde Bombshells of 1943 by Alan Plater at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds as well as in the West End hit show Journey's End, directed by David Grindley.

Other TV and film credits include roles in Red Cap, Between the Sheets, Lüthi und Blanc, Island at War, Havarie, Clash of the Santas, Here Comes Kalle, Casualty 1909, Tatort, Doctors, Drama Am Gauligletscher, Best Friends and Die Fallers.
