Rachel (Beatrice Comins)

Rachel was the registrar conducted the marriage service of Gail McIntyre and Michael Rodwell in April 2015. At his request, she invited Michael to say a few words and he made a heartfelt speech about how much Gail meant to him. She then took the couple through their vows but Gail felt a rush of guilt about the words concerning trust as she was hiding from Michael the fact that the man he thought was his son, Gavin Rodwell, was in fact Andy Carver, a stranger to the family. She had a sudden attack of nerves and couldn't go on with the service. After a conversation with Michael, she changed her mind and the Registrar asked her if she was absolutely certain before continuing. When it came to saying "I do", Gail answered "I absolutely, definitely, 100%, do!"

In January 2017 she officiated at the low-key wedding of Eileen Grimshaw and Pat Phelan. The groom was late and the registrar was all for calling the service off but he arrived at the last minute, claiming bad traffic. In reality, he had been involved in a viscous fight with Andy Carver which had terminated when Phelan crashed a heavy laptop down on his head, only making the service after covering up the event by imprisoning him in the cellar of a deserted house.

In January 2018, Chesney Brown and Sinead Tinker were the couple to be married at Weatherfield Register Office. Several people were tense as Sinead had shown she had feelings towards Daniel Osbourne, which he reciprocated and which Chesney was aware of. The registrar welcomed everyone and asked that mobile phones were on silent and people refrain from taking pictures during the ceremony. She was leading the couple through their vows when Chesney hesitated and brought an end to proceedings, saying he couldn't go through with it as he couldn't let his son Joseph get attached to someone who would eventually leave them.

A ceremony that took place without any hitches was in March 2020 when Adam Barlow married Sarah Platt. After the vows and rings were exchanged, the registrar wished them many happy years together with their hopes and wishes fulfilled, hoping that their love would enrich the lives of those around them and announced that they were now husband and wife.

A low-key ceremony took place in April 2021 when Peter Barlow once more married Carla Connor. As it was a repeat of their nuptials, they chose - at the last minute - to have only Daniel Osbourne and Roy Cropper as guests and made their own vows. Peter was struggling with the effects of liver failure and made it through the proceedings in great pain.
