Quentin Lawrence (6th November, 1920 - 9th March, 1979) was a director on Coronation Street between May 1973 and August 1978 with 30 episodes to his credit, including two co-credited with Oliver Horsbrugh and a further two co-credited with Nick Burrell-Davis. On these latter two, Lawrence was responsible for the location filming in Majorca which was the programme's first foreign location shoot.
An experienced physicist by training, he had a long television career with many credits including ITV Television Playhouse, The Trollenberg Terror, William Tell , H.G. Wells' Invisible Man, Emergency-Ward 10, Sergeant Cork, The Plane Makers, The Avengers, Public Eye, The Brothers, Emmerdale, Sam, The Ghosts of Motley Hall, Catweazle and Crown Court. He was also the producer for several of these series.
