Queen street

Bet Lynch in Queen Street in 1975

Queen Street is a street in Weatherfield. The thoroughfare contains terraced houses, shops and small businesses, notably The Queens pub which opened there in 1931.

In 1965, Emily Nugent was fined £5 for driving the wrong way up the one-way Queen Street while out on a lesson with Leonard Swindley. The offence was witnessed by PC Conway, who was out on patrol in the area.

Queen Street was also the location of the firm of Grindrods who put a job for tender out to the building firm of Fairclough and Langton in 1975. That same year, Newton & Ridley drayman Frank Bradley caught sight of his ex Bet Lynch entering a sweet shop while driving a brewery van and called out to her, though Bet didn't find out it had been him until he delivered to the Rovers Return later that day.

25 years later, Natalie Barnes and Vinny Sorrell went out together in a restaurant there to discuss rekindling their relationship.
