The brusque Prison Officer worked at Highfield Prison at the same time that both Gary Windass and Johnny Connor were incarcerated there. One day in February 2021, prisoner Joe Chissick accidentally took an overdose in his cell and the officer ordered all the other prisoners back to their own cells while the incident was investigated. Later in the day, he again told Johnny to return to his cell but the effects of his MS were starting to tell on him and he was hallucinating that there was a suited man stood in the recreation area. The unsympathetic officer asked Johnny if he was deliberately winding him up and repeated the instruction to him without bothering to investigate what was wrong with him.

Eight months later he showed himself to be a corrupt officer when he colluded with convicted drugs gangster Harvey Gaskell in effecting an escape from the prison. Harvey's chance of appeal had been scuppered by Toyah Battersby who had reported his lawyer, Sabeen Habeeb, for using illegal practices. As it was Toyah's sister Leanne who had provided the key evidence that led to his conviction, he was determined to have his revenge on them before fleeing the country. He approached the officer saying he needed an excuse to go to hospital in a prison van and suggested appendicitis as a reason. Told that the prison doctor would see through such a ruse and that a faked broken bone would be a better idea, Harvey deliberately hurled himself at a door to create the impression of an injured wrist. The hospital visit approved, the officer escorted Harvey into the van where he deliberately failed to secure his compartment. Then, when on a secluded road, he fought a battle with the driver for control of the vehicle which subsequently crashed into the Alahan's car, tipping the vehicle on its side, and allowing Harvey to escape.
