The Policeman worked on patrol in Weatherfield in the early 1960s, whose responsibilities included working undercover in plain clothes. In 1960, he and a female colleague reported Coronation Street corner shop owner Florrie Lindley for breaking licensing laws.
In May 1961, he investigated a break-in at the Rovers Return Inn and in August of the same year he was involved in the search for a missing box of dangerous sleeping tablets.
