In April 2012, the officer came to question the staff of the Rovers after landlady Stella Price found there was £2,500 missing from the pub's safe. After establishing that there was no sign of breaking and entering, Stella assumed one of the staff to be the culprit. Following a visit from a bailiff, and after finding a stash of unpaid bills and reminders, Stella soon realised that her partner Karl Munro was behind the missing money but did not inform the police.
