The Police Officer and a male colleague responded to a call from a "concerned neighbour" of Nicola Rubinstein's to say that they had seen an intruder at her flat at 5 Viola Court in February 2018.
Nicola was hiding a frightened Seb Franklin there after he became aware that Pat Phelan had murdered Luke Britton and was trying to pin the crime on him. Phelan had become suspicious that Nicola was up to something and used a spare key to gain entry, finding a unwitting Seb there but keeping his discovery to himself. When Nicola was called by the police, she rushed to the flat where she confirmed to them that Seb was looking after the flat for her and that she also knew the lad had prior convictions but he was a family friend. The officer was unable to say who had made the call, saying they only responded to them, but Seb was convinced that Phelan had blown their cover.
In April 2019, the officer called at the Rovers to return the personal effects of Rana Habeeb to her fiancée Kate Connor. Rana had died the month before when the roof of Underworld, sabotaged by a desperate Gary Windass to try and procure him work to fix it, had collapsed, killing Rana under the rubble. As owner Carla Connor had put off having the work done due to her own financial problems, she had suffered a breakdown caused by her overwhelming feelings of guilt and had gone missing, leading to immense worry and stress for her family. Within the personal effects was Rana's phone on which Kate found multiple messages from Carla, hoping it would give them a lead as to where she could be found.
In March 2020 she arrested Ali Neeson on suspicion of assaulting Gary. The two men had been rivals for Maria Connor and Gary, playing underhand, had spiked the GP’s drink in the Rovers with diazepam though the dosage was too high though and he was hospitalised. Ali had himself been dosing with the drug the previous year to deal with the guilt of effectively murdering dangerous gangster Ronan Truman while treating him after a car crash. The latest incident caused by Gary led to Ali being reported to the General Medical Council. Realising what must have happened, Ali forcefully drove Maria off in his car to make her listen to his suspicions about Gary. The strategy didn’t work, and Gary provoked Ali into punching him in front of witnesses. Arrested and then released on bail, Ali decided he'd had enough and left the area for good.
