Philippa Gail (born 16th August 1942 in Bishop's Stortford, died 25th July 1999 in Okeford Fitzpaine, Dorset) appeared in Coronation Street as Jo Hepworth, the wife of a friend of Ken Barlow's.

She trained at the Webber-Douglas theatre school and also appeared in The Villains, ITV Play of the Week, Sexton Blake, Man in a Suitcase, Dixon of Dock Green, a regular role in the BBC drama Mogul, The Sweeney, The Bill and A Fatal Inversion.

On stage she appeared in rep in Ilford, Cheltenham and Chesterfield and also appeared in Twelfth Night, The Fighting Cock, Hobson's Choice, Pygmalion and Little Eyolf, all to critical acclaim. She went on to teach drama at the Eugene O'Neill Centre and South Florida University before her death from cancer at the age of 56.
