Philip Stone (14th April, 1924 - 15th June, 2003) played two roles on Coronation Street: Peter Derwent in June 1961 and then from September of the same year to 1965 he appeared as a police sergeant, named later as Det Sergeant Sowman. He was the only actor to ever appear in three successive Stanley Kubrick films, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon and The Shining.
