Phil Croft appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in July 1998 as Returning Officer Norman McLeod in the St. Mary's Ward by-election; and he returned to the programme in December 2002 as a customs officer who stopped Steve and Karen McDonald on a routine drugs check on arrival back to Manchester Airport from Tenerife.
He trained at the Old Vic Theatre School and landed his first professional job in Glorious Years at Theatr Clwyd. In the early 2000s he decided to switch to the other side of the camera to pursue his interest in role-play and facilitation, but since made a return to the acting profession.
His other credits include roles in Life Without George, London's Burning, A Touch of Frost, Covington Cross, Peak Practice, Emmerdale, Woof!, Where the Heart Is, Noah's Ark, Heartbeat, Dalziel and Pascoe and Citizen Khan, along with the 1993 film Bhaji on the Beach.
