Peter Martin (born December 1941 in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire; died 19th April 2023) appeared on Coronation Street in five roles:
- Jack Livesey, a contestant in the Superbrain competition held at the Rovers in April 1976
- A father in hospital, anxiously awaiting the birth of his seventh child, while Ray Langton was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first in January 1977
- Lorry driver Clarkie who was a customer at Jim's Cafe in January 1980
- A gasboard man who investigated a leak at 9 Coronation Street in October 1987
- Jim Buckley, dog owner and friend of Victor Pendlebury in February 1990.
His other television credits included roles in Bill Brand, Hard Times, The Hills of Heaven, All Creatures Great and Small, The Gathering Seed, In Loving Memory, The Beiderbecke Tapes and its sequel The Beiderbecke Connection, How to be Cool, Dalziel and Pascoe, Peak Practice, Playing the Field and Doctors but will probably be best remembered in his roles of Joe Caroll in The Royle Family and as Len Reynolds in Emmerdale.
Film roles included Pretty Polly, The Brontë Sisters, Wetherby, Funny Bones, Brassed Off, The Parole Officer and Walk Like a Panther.
