Peter Cross was the salesman for new link-detached houses being built on the Willow Crescent Estate. He showed Brian and Gail Tilsley round the show home which delighted Gail but Brian was dubious of the sales patter being given to them. Nevertheless, they agreed to put a deposit down on the £16,000 asking price for 16 Willow Crescent. Several weeks later though the purchase fell through when Gail discovered she was pregnant and realised she would have to give up work.
