Peter Caffrey (born 18th April 1949 in Dublin, died 1st January 2008 in Manchester) appeared in Coronation Street intermittently between October 1991 and August 1992 as Ivy Brennan's priest Father O'Rourke.
He began his career on stage at the Project Arts Centre in Dublin in the 1970s. On television he also appeared in The Burke Enigma, Bracken, Boon, The Bill, The Paradise Club, Casualty, I Woke Up One Morning, Between the Lines, Screen One, Glenroe, Father Ted, Relative Strangers and Peak Practice but is best known as Padraig O'Kelly in Ballykissangel, a role he played for three years.
Film roles include Criminal Conversation, Angel, Taffin, Venus Peter, Night Train, A Love Divided and To Catch a Crow.
On stage he appeared in Valued Friends and, for the National Theatre, Whale, The Crucible and Piano.
On radio he was heard in Late Night Opening Eamon, Older Brother of Jesus, The Christopher, Aristocrats, Nun Climbs Tree and Flower of Blood.
