Penny Gowling (born "Penelope Ethel Davis", 1920 in Headington, Oxfordshire; died 20th January 2013 in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street in five roles (the first three credited under her maiden name):
- An unnamed Policewoman that appeared in the second episode in December 1960 (she had played the same role in the dry run of Episode 1 that was recorded the month before)
- A Salvation Army lady collecting on the street in June 1964
- Weatherfield Town Hall committee member Miss Prowse in May 1971
- Mrs. Harbottle, secretary to Richard Cresswell in May 1978
- Pheobe, the aunt of Fred Gee's girlfriend Maureen Slater, appearing in March 1983.
A regular actress for Granada Television, she also appeared in Shadow Squad, Biggles, Knight Errant Limited, The Man in Room 17, Family at War, Crown Court and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
She was married to actor Tom Gowling, who himself appeared on Coronation Street in four minor roles.
