Paula Elsa Jacobs (born 6th March 1932 in Liverpool, died 26th June 2021 in Westminster, London) appeared on Coronation Street in July 1994 as Beryl Murdoch, co-proprietor of the Murdoch Guest House where the Websters and Rita Sullivan briefly stayed when they holidayed at Blackpool.

Her other television credits included roles in Z Cars, Softly Softly: Task Force, Scully, Mapp & Lucia, Albion Market, Porterhouse Blue, Gems, May to December, Casualty, Brookside, Drop the Dead Donkey, The Famous Five, Animal Ark, Belfry Witches, Poirot and Doctors.

Film roles included Birth of the Beatles, An American Werewolf in London, She'll Be Wearing Pink Pyjamas, The Assam Garden, We Think the World of You, The Remains of the Day and Tea with Mussolini.

On stage, she appeared in productions of Equus, Brighton Rock, The Corn is Green and Getting On.

She was married to the late actor David Swift, who appeared in a September 1985 episode of the spin-off The Brothers McGregor.
