Paul Moriarty (born 19th May 1946 in London) appeared on Coronation Street intermittently between August 1971 and August 1972 as Canal Garage mechanic Colin Harvey.
Better known for his regular appearances as DS/DI Jake Barratt in The Gentle Touch from 1980 to 1984 and George Palmer in EastEnders from 1996 to 1998, his other credits include roles in Z Cars, Holly, The Paradise Club, A Touch of Frost, The Bill, Pride and Prejudice, The Knock, Doctors, Holby City and WPC 56.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Schweyk in the Second World War, Dingo, Troilus and Cressida, Destiny, Bingo, Half an Hour Please!, The Passion, King Lear, Bandits, The Days of the Commune, Captain Swing, The Bundle, A Miserable and Lonely Death, The Tempest, The Churchill Play, Antony and Cleopatra, Winter's Tale, The Biko Inquest, The Joys of Crime and Punishment, The Innocent, Men's Beano, Solid Geometry and A Penny for a Song for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
