Paul Jaynes appeared on Coronation Street in September 1983 as Dennis Lawton, a potential purchaser of Tilsley's Garage.
He graduated from Manchester Polytechnic Drama School and the University of Huddersfield.
His other credits include roles in The XYY Man, Crown Court, Second Chance, Strangers, How We Used to Live, Whoops Apocalypse, Brookside, The Jewel in the Crown, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Practice, Langley Bottom and Floodtide, along with an uncredited role in the 1978 comedy film Rosie Dixon - Night Nurse.
On radio, he was heard in a production of The Afternoon Play.
He later went on to become a theatre director and moved into teaching - at Bristol Old Vic, Webber Douglas, Manchester Metropolitan and eventually became Head of Acting at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester. He relocated to London and is Director of Studies at Court Theatre Training Company.
