Patrick McAlinney (born 9th November 1913 in Omagh, Ireland; died 22nd August 1990 in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire) appeared on Coronation Street between September and October 1964 as Tickler Murphy, a short-term lodger of Minnie Caldwell.
Perhaps best known for his role as Brother Patrick in the BBC sitcom Oh Brother!, his other credits include Knight Errant Limited, Harpers West One, Z Cars, No Hiding Place, Dixon of Dock Green, Orlando, The Liver Birds, The Tomorrow People, Crossroads, Crown Court and Bless Me Father, along with a small role in the controversial 1976 film The Omen.
On stage, he appeared in productions of The Passing Day, The Matchmaker, Man and Superman and Hadrian VII.
