The unnamed Passer-by was out walking his dog when he was stopped and asked directions to Weatherfield Quays by Mike Baldwin one evening in January 2006. Prior to being officially diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, Mike had taken Penny King for a meal at the Clock in order to propose to her, but a stunned Penny turned him down.
Upset and confused, Mike stormed out of the restaurant but couldn't remember the way to drive back to his flat. The passer-by informed Mike that he was going the wrong way but despite giving him clear directions to the Quays, Mike had somehow found his way to the Rovers.
