Pamela Marriott was Valerie Tatlock's assistant at the salon Maison Valerie in 1961. Pamela ran the business by herself for eight months while Val was living in Glasgow, by all accounts doing a good job. When Val returned to Weatherfield in July 1962, she accepted an offer from Pamela to buy her out of Maison Valerie and used the money to set up a new salon, Valerie's, in 9 Coronation Street's front room.
