PC Talbot was one of several officers involved in chasing the perpetrator of a robbery in the area who Michael Bailey came across when he was in pursuit of Grace Vickers who had stormed out of 3 Coronation Street after his mother Aggie told her potential daughter-in-law exactly what she thought of her. The officer and Michael were instantly at loggerheads when he stopped the young man on suspicion of being the robber as he didn't use diplomatic means to find out why he was running down Victoria Street nor give articulated reasons as to why he resembled the true suspect. Michael stayed where he was, and as instructed showed his hands and when requested, his ID. Grace came out of the shop and accused the officer of racism when she found out what was going on. He smirked in reply and continued the questioning as Grace told Michael to give no answers and a passing Gemma Winter offered to fetch Adam Barlow or Imran Habeeb. The questioning stopped when a report came over the police radio that the true suspect had been apprehended. The officers left without saying a word while an outraged Grace demanded an apology from them.
