PC Rawani and his colleague PC Gran were called out in August 2016 through an "anonymous tip-off" to investigate whether Robert Preston had been driving under the influence of alcohol. Taking particular interest in the proceedings were Craig Tinker, who had just returned from attending a Special Constable Information Day, and love and business rival Nick Tilsley, who had reported Robert for the alleged offence. After failing a roadside breathalyser test outside Nick's Bistro in Viaduct Street, Robert was arrested and taken to Weatherfield Police Station where he was issued with a fine and a twelve-month driving ban.

In December of the same year, Rawani was paired with PC Mills and the two officers began questioning residents following a brutal attack on Pat Phelan who was discovered lying unconscious and barely breathing by Steph Britton as she returned home from work. Having summoned her boyfriend Andy Carver to phone for an ambulance, Phelan was rushed to Weatherfield General where his condition quickly stabilised but many residents informed the officers that Kevin Webster had an altercation with Phelan around the same time during that day and the finger of suspicion quickly pointed to the mechanic. In reality, it was Andy himself who'd attacked Phelan in revenge for his part in Michael Rodwell's fatal heart attack which occurred during the previous month.

In February 2017 he arrested tanning salon owner Nathan Curtis for the abduction of teenager Annabel Adams on or about 15th December the previous year after the girl was seen getting into a car with him shortly before he disappeared. Nathan was part of a grooming gang and was setting up Bethany Platt as his next victim. She was present at the arrest and as shaken by the incident however her trust in him was redoubled after Annabel was found safe and sound with friends in Tenerife and, as a result, fell even more into his clutches.

In November 2017 the officer stopped Angie Appleton when she was driving her son George to Weatherfield General. Angie was suffering from post-natal depression after George's birth but had refused treatment and kept the diagnosis secret from everyone. Her mother-in-law Mary Taylor became convinced that her behaviour denoted alcoholism and herself rang the police after Angie set off in the car. PC Rawani made it clear to Angie that he wasn't stopping her for speeding but nevertheless required her to take a breath test. Mary had followed Angie with Dev Alahan in his car and accused her of drinking in front of the officer. The subsequent test showed Angie to be well under the limit and she accused mary of being a "desperate cow" who wanted to take her son off her. Husband Jude Appleton ordered his mother to stay away from his family but peace was momentarily restored soon afterwards when Angie confessed to her depression.

In January 2018, PC Rawani was one of the officers who conducted foot enquiries after the body of Luke Britton was found shot dead inside a burnt-out car at the Legacy Reach Paper Mill. Luke's former bosses Kevin Webster and Tyrone Dobbs were one of his ports of call and he received from Imran Habeeb a memory stick with all the records are pertaining to a case a couple of weeks before in which Luke was provoked into assaulting racist businessmen Justin and Dale Parker, thinking they were behind his death. In truth, the culprit was Phelan who murdered Luke when his investigations into the missing Andy Carver, another of the builder's victims, had started to get too close to home.

Four months later, the officer arrested David Platt for failing to turn up at Weatherfield Crown Court on a charge of assaulting Gary Windass when he battered him unconscious at a charity boxing match organised by Josh Tucker. What no one knew was that Josh was a serial rapist and in the April David had been one of his victims. Totally unable to deal with what had happened to him, he began to reject everyone around him and, in the ring, had lashed out in rage and frustration at his opponent. On the day of his hearing, David was setting off for court when the news came to him that Aidan Connor had committed suicide. Knowing full well that within himself he had contemplated such a drastic step, David ran off unthinking about the consequences, later confessing to girlfriend Shona Ramsey about his ordeal before he faced the music and was sent to Highfield Prison pending a new trial date when he was given a suspended sentence.

In September 2023, the officer accompanied social worker Felicity Hassall to the flat of Dom Everett, the natural father of Eliza Woodrow who she had only recently made contact with. Despite her grandfather Stu Carpenter being granted custody of Eliza while her mother Bridget was in jail, Eliza stated a wish to be with her father who, unknown to her, wasn't the ideal dad she hankered after and who had gone so far as to offer to take a step back if Stu gave him £10,000. When Stu refused both the bribe and Eliza's demand that she live with Dom, she ran away from 6 Coronation Street in the night and settled down in Dom's flat. After talking to father and daughter, Felicity decided to let the child stay one more night, giving the excuse that Dom had passed previous due diligence exercises. Stu was outraged and, in an attempt to gain access to the flat, accidentally hit PC Rawani on the nose. He was duly arrested but was released with just a warning.
