PC Qureshi first called at Coronation Street in June 2015 to question Andy Carver about the events of a recent fire at Victoria Court, as he had been the first to ring the emergency services. Andy had made the call under the name of Gavin Rodwell as he was posing as Michael Rodwell's long-lost son and his supposed father was next to him at the time. When the police called, Andy was trying to head off a parcel being delivered to Michael from his ex-wife Susan Meldrum that contained a photo album of the real Gavin - recently deceased - growing up. As a result of having to go to Nick's Bistro to answer the police's enquiries, he missed the courier calling with the package.
In October 2016 Qureshi was a member of the emergency services who rushed to Rosamund Street where a car driven at high speed by David Platt had crashed, hitting his own daughter Lily and her rescuer Gary Windass. David had been trying to get to the Weatherfield Crown Court in an attempt to kill Clayton Hibbs who had knifed his wife, Kylie, to death. The residents lifted the vehicle off the two but leaked petrol ignited, badly burning Anna Windass. The police sealed off the scene, with Qureshi blocking an indignant Steve McDonald from gaining access to the Rovers.
In January 2022, PC Qureshi was called to the street a short time after Joseph Brown had run away from home, and then returned, with the substantial reward for his return being claimed by local dodgy market trader Clint Stubbins. Joseph's temporary disappearance had been concocted by his cousin, Hope Stape, to teach the "grown-ups" a lesson after Chesney Brown spoke to the Joseph's school about the bullying he was suffering for his obvious poverty, even though his son begged him not to. Hope initially hid him in the lift at No.9, later smuggling him out when a house valuer looked over the property to give a quote for its sale value and they came across Clint on their way back. Bernie Winter discovered all that had occurred and saw an opportunity to relieve the financial problems burdens that Chesney and Gemma were suffering when Clint offered her half the reward in return for her silence. Fiz discovered the hideout in the loft, and to protect herself, Hope put the blame for the scheme fully onto Bernie's shoulders. The residents were fully taken in as they had seen evidence of Bernie flush with cash and summoned the police. Qureshi took not only Bernie down to the station for questioning, but Fiz Stape as well as he found it hard to believe that she hadn't known that a ten-year old child had been living in her loft without her knowledge. Any potential charges were dropped after a guilt-ridden Joseph confessed that Hope had been the brains behind his disappearance.
Three months later, he called at 8 Coronation Street and arrested teenager Max Turner for spiking Amy Barlow's drink at a school Valentine's Day dance in the February. Max's intended victim had been teacher Daniel Osbourne who he had been in a long-term feud with. To give Max another chance, Daniel kept quiet about what he knew once he found out what Max had done, however when Max trainee teacher Nicky Wheatley as a former escort, Daniel decided that he needed to be taught a lesson. Max confessed before Daniel could reveal anything but still earned the ire of his family for concealing the crime.
- The character was credited with a name on his second appearance.
