PC Bowers dealt with several incidents involving the residents of Coronation Street and its environs.

In December 2022, Billy Mayhew and Paul Foreman reported their ward Summer Spellman as missing. She was in a relationship with Aaron Sandford whose father Eric was struggling with alcoholism and needed money for his rehabilitation. Summer had got pregnant and although she didn’t want the baby, she had reached an arrangement with childless couple Mike and Esther Hargarve to sell the child to them. Even when she miscarried, she didn’t tell the Hargreaves, reasoning that Eric needed the money but with no clear plan as to how she would get herself out of the mess once the Hargraves found out. Aaron disagreed and told Billy what was transpiring with the result that Summer ran away from home, leaving a note saying, “I have gone away for a while as I need some space, please don't look for me.” PC Bowers told Paul and Billy that Summer would be registered as a missing person as they had concerns about her mental health, but that nine times out of ten someone her age did come home when they were ready. However, she also warned that as she was an adult if the police found her and she didn't consent to her whereabouts being passed on, they wouldn't be able to tell them where she was now living. After spending several days at a hostel, Summer turned up at the Hargraves’ house and Esther told Billy where she could be found.

In January 2024, PC Bowers oversaw a complaint of assault when Liam Connor attacked Dylan Wilson. In truth, Dylan was a reluctant member of Mason Radcliffe's gang at Weatherfield High and had been subjecting Liam to a campaign of bullying and intimidation for some months. Without telling his mother Maria what was happening, Liam played truant to avoid his persecutors but, forced back to school and receiving threatening messages, he decided to confront his bullies but inevitably found himself overwhelmed by force of numbers. Pressing all the right buttons, Mason provoked Liam into punching Dylan, an act for which he was suspended and reported to the police. Dylan had given his own statement in which he lied through his back teeth that Liam had been the one picking on him and PC Bowers read this to an aghast Maria in Liam’s presence. Thoroughly cowed, Liam confirmed the content of Dylan’s statement. The police decided to take a restorative justice approach and made Liam apologise to a contemptuous Dylan, who in a muttered aside told him that he and his mates would be waiting for him when he returned to school.

A few months earlier, Mason had pulled a knife on Liam and had then ordered Dylan to hide the weapon for him. In the March Liam’s stepbrother, Jake Windass, had plucked up the courage and told Maria and Gary Windass about the incident and No.11 was searched but without success. Mason set up Dylan to be found with the knife but hadn’t reckoned with forensic science which found his own prints on the blade. PC Bowers and a colleague visited Maria and Gary and informed them that Mason had been charged with threatening with a bladed article in a public space and he would be likely to receive a custodial sentence if he was found guilty.

In June 2024, PC Bowers called at 12 Victoria Court to break the news to Toyah Battersby that the body of her stillborn baby had been released and could now be given a funeral. The baby had been stillborn 23 years before when Toyah was a 19-year-old teenager and had been raped by supposed friend Phil Simmonds. Without telling anyone, she gave birth to the child in her own bedroom at 5 Coronation Street. Terrified at seeing that the newborn was dead, she took the child to North Cross Park and buried her under some bushes, occasionally going along over the years to place a yellow rose on the grave in remembrance of the child's name of Rose which she had bestowed on her. The matter came to light many years later in a series of events after teenager Lauren Bolton disappeared and there was a suspicion in some quarters that she had been murdered and buried in the park.
