Nirab was the entity worshipped by the Etheric Foundation's cult, led by Ben Andrews and Ruth Morgan. Their members believed that rather than dying, one could move to the next life to be with Nirab. The cult's members would go door-to-door selling "crystals of Nirab", which they said would purify oneself. Members of the cult strived to be a son or daughter of Nirab, and later on Ruth and Ben told Zoe Tattersall that she had been chosen by Nirab to have a baby for the Foundation, to the disgust of her partner Ashley Peacock. She subsequently moved to the cult's headquarters in America.
- The portrait of Nirab is actually that of Brian Park, the programme's producer at the time the storyline was planned. "Nirab" is an anagram of "Brian".
