Nigel Carrington appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- A wine waiter at La Parisienne restaurant where the Ogdens dined in September 1983 (Credited as "Nigel Caliburn")
- A waiter at an expensive restaurant who served Jack Duckworth and Tina Fowler in July 1989
- Roger Brookes, the nephew of Ted Sullivan, who appeared intermittently between June 1992 and February 1993.
He has been a regular on the London voice-over circuit since 1981. He is also a former member of the BBC Radio Drama Company. He has narrated over sixty unabridged audio titles, and played Nigel Pargetter in The Archers from 1986 to 1989 and Dr David Boyce in Westway from 1997 to 2005, for BBC World Service Drama.
His other credits include roles in Emmerdale Farm, Brookside, Jonathan Creek, Kavanagh QC, The Bill, Casualty and London Bridge, along with the feature film The Dark Knight.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Mistress and Muse, Rebecca, Hamlet, No Man's Land, Taking Sides and Collaboration.
