Nicolette Seddon was a school friend of Sophie Webster at Weatherfield High. During a history lesson in November 2005, the class traced their family trees and the two girls found out that they were distantly related - Nicolette's father being the cousin of Sophie's mother.
Nicolette was seen as a bad influence on Sophie - especially when she encouraged Sophie to smoke. The Websters decided to go and visit Nicolette's parents and were horrified to discover that Sally's cousin Paul was rich and successful. In a heated exchange, Paul and wife Suzanne accused Sophie of being the bad influence over their daughter.
Kevin and Sally subsequently banned Sophie from seeing Nicolette again.
