Nicola Sanderson appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Claire Connell, whose husband Ray was a member of the police's armed response team in October 2000
- CAFCASS officer Rachel Godfrey who was assigned to Simon Barlow's custody case in May 2012
- A Midwife who cared for Michelle Connor when she was delivered of a stillborn baby boy in January 2017, and for Sarah Barlow when she suffered a miscarriage in August 2023.
Originally studying English, History and Psychology at Hereford Sixth Form College, she continued into higher education and studied Drama at Manchester University. After graduating, she moved to London and worked backstage for the Royal Shakespeare Company before completing a PGCE at Goldsmiths. Along with three other course members, they set up a company and went on to write and perform in fringe theatre. Following the success of one of these shows, she landed her first TV role and cast in a National Theatre production.
TV credits include roles in Peak Practice, The Governor, Casualty, Touching Evil, City Central, The Bill, EastEnders, Holby City and Law & Order: UK.
