Nicholas Marc Cochrane was born on 16th December 1973 in Wythenshawe, Manchester

Nick appeared in school productions such as My Fair Lady and Willy Russell's Our Day Out - which was performed at Manchester's Forum Theatre. He also played an extra in Coronation Street as a boy playing football. He was educated at Cheadle Comprehensive School in Stockport.

Nick had desires to become a photographer but was asked to audition for a role in Coronation Street, he jumped at the chance. Nick joined fellow schoolmate Simon Gregson to play twins Andy and Steve McDonald and they made their Coronation Street debut on 6th December 1989. Nick left school the following year in 1990. He has also made appearances on This Morning, GMTV, TVam, Five's Company along with various pantomimes. Nick was axed from the Street in 1997, however he made brief return appearances in November and December 2000, February 2004 and most recently, August 2009.

He has since appeared on Channel 5 and in the drama series Heartbeat. He is now married and lives with wife Denise and their two children Sam and Lucia in Manchester. Previously, Nick had been linked with model Amanda Clay Domar. Nick is still a member of the Coronation Street Charity Soccer Team and is also a keen Manchester United fan - and has worked for MUTV.
