Niall Toibin (born 21st November 1929 in Cork, Ireland, died 13th November 2019 in Dublin) appeared in Coronation Street in March 1989 as Father Donavan who counselled Ivy Tilsley after the death of Brian Tilsley.

In his early career he was a member of the Radio Éireann Players for fourteen years and worked extensively at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre. He has also appeared in Theatre 625, Play for Today, Brideshead Revisited, Bracken, Oxbridge Blues, The Detective, Bulman, The Irish R.M., Dempsey and Makepeace, G.B.H., Stay Lucky, Casualty, Ballykissangel and The Clinic.

On film, he has appeared in many roles including Guns in the Heather, Ryan's Daughter, Flight of the Doves, Poitín, The Outsider, Lovespell, The Ballroom of Romance and Far and Away.

Theatre roles include The Iceman Cometh, Waiting for Godot, Tis A Pity She's A Whore, A Small Family Business, A Place with the Pigs, Antony and Cleopatra, Cymbeline, The Tempest, The Winter's Tale, Bartholomew Fair, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Secret Rapture, Mountain Language, Single Spies, The Magic Olypmical Games, The Strangeness of Others, The World Turned Upside Down, Has “Washington” Legs?, The Putney Debates and The Long Voyage Home.

On radio he has been heard in The Weaver's Grave and Samuel Beckett's All That Fall.
