Neil Stacy (born 15th May 1941 in Stowupland, Suffolk) appeared on Coronation Street in May 1965 as Daniel Palmer, a young toff from the Cheshire set who bullied Dennis Tanner during an outing to Oulton Park.

He graduated from Oxford University in 1962 with a BA in History.

With an acting CV dating from the mid-1960s onwards, some of his other credits include roles in The Indian Tales of Rudyard Kipling, Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, Softly Softly: Task Force, War & Peace, The Pallisers, Barlow, Crown Court, Minder, To Serve Them All My Days, The Fourth Arm, Shine on Harvey Moon, Duty Free, Lovejoy, The House of Windsor, Get Well Soon, Heartbeat and The Bill.

On stage, he has appeared in productions of The Soldier's Fortune, A Room with a View, The Importance of Being Earnest, Richard II, Enemy, The Recruiting Offr, A Patriot for Me, Canaries Sometimes Sing, Captain Carvallo, Blithe Spirit, Single Spies, The Letter, Mrs Warren's Profession, Cause Célebre, Real Inspector Hound, Gasping, A Perfect Gentleman, Luther, The Deep Blue Sea, Three Men in a Boat, The Woman in White, Dry Rot and The Last of Duty Free.

Since retiring from the acting profession, Neil is a successful author with published works on English and Scottish history.
