Neil Phillips (born 22nd September 1948 in New Forest, Hampshire) appeared on Coronation Street between July and November 1983 as councillor/painter and decorator Des Foster. He then made a brief return to the role in December 1991.
His other credits include roles in The New Avengers, Crown Court, A Kind of Loving, Fell Tiger, Children's Ward, EastEnders, A Touch of Frost, The Bill and Time Trumpet, along with the feature films Privates on Parade and The Zero Option.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Pericles, The Jail Diary of Albie Sachs, Othello, Julius Caesar, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby and Romeo and Juliet for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other works include The Friends, The Persians, The Taming of the Shrew, The Boy Friend, The Stirrings in Sheffield on Saturday Night, A Taste of Honey, Mr What-Not, The Tale of the Red Dragon, Terra Nova, The Double Inconstancy and The Rehearsal.
