Mrs Banks was a potential client of Barlow Legal Services who called into the office one day in August 2017 wanting advice on how to get a divorce from her husband. She walked into a discussion between partners Adam Barlow and Todd Grimshaw with PA candidate Rosie Webster who had applied for the position under a false name knowing that otherwise the two men wouldn't see her. They made it clear that they viewed her CV as a total fiction and they wouldn't even consider her when Mrs Banks walked through the door, causing Rosie to go straight into professional mode, showing the client into the office and offering her a cup of tea in an effort to prove her worth to the two men.
Rosie sat in on the meeting where Mrs Banks told them that she suspected her husband of twenty years was cheating on her. She had sudden second thoughts and was reluctant to proceed, but Rosie buttered her up by telling her that any man who cheated on a woman as strong and as beautiful as her didn't deserve any second chances and divorce was the only way. The woman had no actual proof of infidelity and Rosie offered the firm's assistance in providing that, at which point the two men had to step in as she was going too far and accepting a remit which they didn't offer. The woman thanked Rosie for listening and left, and Adam had to also inform Rosie that the job wasn't hers.
Undeterred, Rosie went and obtained photos of Mr Banks with his mistress which she sent to Mrs Banks who confronted her husband with them. He confessed to the affair and the two agreed to try again. Even though the firm had not formally taken her on, she sent them a fee in gratitude which Adam and Todd split with Rosie, also giving her the job as a reward for her "barking mad" initiative.
