Mr Albright was a housing officer at Weatherfield County Borough Council who dealt with Nancy Leathers when she called in to see him about their offer of an OAP bungalow that they had made to her several weeks before. Whilst the news had been welcome at the time, since then her daughter Ida Barlow had died in a traffic accident and Nancy felt that she couldn't leave her son-in-law Frank or grandson Ken to cope on their own in the short term.
Nancy was nervous and halting in her explanation, particularly when Mr Albright told her that if she postponed taking on the offered bungalow it might be two years before another became available. When he discovered the cause of her concern, he was sympathetic and advised her to discuss the matter with Frank, saying she only had two days to make up her mind. In the event, Nancy made up her mind to take the bungalow and moved in with the help and blessing of everyone concerned.
