The Mission Hall Players was a production company formed by Albert Tatlock in defiance when the literary circle moved the venue of their play Lady Lawson Loses from the Glad Tidings Mission Hall to St. Joseph's Church, meaning that the proceeds would go to the church instead of the Over 60's Club as was originally intended. The residents of Coronation Street supported Albert by joining the Mission Hall Players and mounting the play at Glad Tidings on Christmas Eve 1962.
Produced by Leonard Swindley, the Edwardian melodrama Lady Lawson Loses was the sole outing for the Mission Hall Players.
