Mike Ridehalgh was a car park attendant who, at the suggestion of Jack Walker, bought a ticket for the 1967 Cup Final to be played between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea on Saturday 20th May. Mike paid Stan £10 for the ticket. He intended to use the money to have a day out without anyone knowing. However Hilda had bought a second ticket from David Barlow and when Stan found out he tried to buy his ticket back off Mike. He wanted £20 for the transaction and, unable to afford this, Stan had to burn Hilda's ticket so that she couldn't attend and find out what he was up to.
