Michelle Newell (born 18th June 1951) appeared on Coronation Street between September 2001 and January 2002 as Gill Gregory, the mother of Rovers' barmaid Geena.

Making her television debut in 1972 in Six Faces, she has also been credited for roles in Cranford, Father Brown, When the Boat Comes In, Van der Valk, Return of the Saint, Shoestring, The Professionals, The Cleopatras, Boon, London's Burning, Spender, Casualty, Doctors, Cambridge Spies and Waking the Dead, as well as the films The Saint and the Brave Goose, Modigliana and The Contract.

On stage she has appeared in productions including The L.A. Plays, The Smell of Fantasy, Have You Anything to Declare?, Director of the Opera, Private Lives, Rosmersholm, The Number of the Beast, The Lucky Ones, Kitty and Kate and Rutherford & Son.

She is married to visual effects designer and artist John Clive. The couple have a daughter, Florence.
