Michelle Newell (born 18th June 1951) appeared on Coronation Street between September 2001 and January 2002 as Gill Gregory, the mother of Rovers' barmaid, Geena.
Making her television debut in 1972 in Six Faces, her other credits include roles in Cranford, When the Boat Comes In, Accident, Return of the Saint, The Cleopatras, London's Burning, Archer's Goon, In Suspicious Circumstances and Top Boy.
Film roles include The Likely Lads, The House of Bernard Alba, The Saint and the Brave Goose, Modigliani, The Contract and A Little Chaos.
On stage, she appeared in productions of The L.A. Plays, The Smell of Fantasy, Have You Anything to Declare?, Director of the Opera, Private Lives, Rosmersholm, The Number of the Beast, The Lucky Ones, Kitty and Kate and Rutherford & Son.
She is married to visual effects designer and artist, John Clive. The couple have a daughter, Florence.
