Michael Wardle (born "Robert Michael Wardle", November 1942 in County Durham) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles:
- Bill Sutton, the boyfriend of foster child John Spencer's mother in November 1981.
- Workman Roy Turner in April 1986 who fitted out Audrey's salon.
- Businessman Gareth Jenkins in both May and July 1995.
- Vicar Arthur Fallowes, due to marry Cecil Newton and Bet Lynch in November 2003.
He also appeared as a drunk in The Talent Contest, an episode of the Street spin-off The Brothers McGregor, transmitted in October 1985.
Graduating from the Guildhall School of Acting in the 1960s, his other television credits include roles in Z Cars, The Doctors, Kizzy, Strangers, Emmerdale Farm, The Practice, Children's Ward, Last of the Summer Wine, In Suspicious Circumstances, Seaforth, Heartbeat, Badger, Cold Feet, A Dinner of Herbs, I'm Alan Partridge and South Riding.
Film roles include Withnail & I, Between Two Women, The Jealous God and A Little in Tents.
On stage, he appeared in productions of A Bequest to the Nation, Hamlet, The Ghost Train and Peril at End House.
