Michael Pierce Turner (born 19th July 1921 in East Province, South Africa; died 14th July 2012 in Swindon, Wiltshire) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in November 1973 as Customs and Excise representative Mr Geddes; and he returned to the programme in January 1981 as dustman Arthur Webster.

In a long career of some fifty years, he also appeared in The Black Arrow, Sherlock Holmes, The Moonstone, The Fellows, Inheritance, City '68, A Man of our Times, Doctor Who, Z Cars, Big Breadwinner Hog, Cranford, New Scotland Yard, The Adventures of Black Beauty, Crown Court, The Case of Eliza Armstrong, Dixon of Dock Green, Sam, Life and Death of Penelope, A Question of Guilt, To Serve Them All My Days, The Brack Report, Crossroads (in the regular role of J. Henry Pollard), Mr Pye and The Ruth Rendell Mysteries.

On stage, he appeared in productions of As You Like It, Coriolanus, Macbeth, Volpone, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, Antony and Cleopatra and King Lear for the Royal Shakespeare Company, King John, Julius Caesar, Doctor Faustus, The Shoemaker's Holiday, The Tempest for the Old Vic Company and The Workhouse Donkey, Saint Joan, Hamlet, The Royal Hunt of the Sun, Othello, Philoctestes, The Dutch Courtesan, The Crucible, Mother Courage and her Children, A Flea in Her Ear, The Storm, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Way of the World, The Travails of Sancho Panza, The Idiot, King Stag, Mrs Warren's Profession, Tyger, The Good Natured Man, Tamburlaine, The Force of Habit, The Road to Mecca, Splendid Isolation, Apart from George and The Strangeness of Others for the National Theatre. Other works include Cyrano de Bergerac, The Knight of the Burning Pestle, The Master Builder, The Pleasure of His Company, The Importance of Being Earnest, Bedroom Farce, The Beaux' Stratagem, Look Back in Anger and Dona Rosita the Spinster.
