Michael McStay (born 31st January 1933 in Essex) appeared on Coronation Street in April, May and October 2011 as Alan Hoyle (the role had previously been played by John Woodvine in the previous year).
He is best known for his roles in No Hiding Place, Le mari de l'ambassadeur, Jack & Sarah and Robbery. He made his debut in 1960 in the TV series Dixon of Dock Green.
