Michael Loney (born Perth, Australia) appeared on Coronation Street intermittently between May 1986 and February 1987 as Ian Latimer, nephew of Bert Tilsley who had an affair with Gail Tilsley.
In a career which saw him appear in productions in both his native country and the UK, he has also been credited for roles in Falcon Island, Sorry!, Crown Court, Tenko, Robin Hood, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Howards' Way, Ship to Shore, Minty, The Shark Net, The Sleepover Club and The Circuit.
Film roles include Under the Lighthouse Dancing, Justice, Southern Cross, Needle, Drift, Bad Girl and Blueback.
On stage, he appeared in productions for the Bristol Old Vic of The Devils and Sixty Thousand Nights and, for other companies, Shadow of the Eagle, Noel and Gertie, Sweeney Todd, A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Goat and Coram Boy.
While for radio, he was heard in the 1985 BBC play Battleships.
