Michael J. Jackson (born 19th January 1948 in Liverpool) appeared intermittently on Coronation Street as businessman Sid Altree between September 2012 and April 2014.
Jackson studied at the University of London and his early career included much theatre work. He made his television debut in 1973 in Man About the House. Jackson has also played minor roles in other British soap operas such as Emmerdale, Casualty and Doctors. In 1978, he won the Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer Actor.
