Michael Elwyn (born 23rd August 1942 in Pontypridd) appeared in Coronation Street in October 1969 as Miami Modes store manager Mr Travers. He reappeared in the programme fifty-one years later in March and April 2020 as Charles Moore, the residents’ chairman of the Stillwaters residential community.

An actor for many decades, he has also appeared in Crossroads, Doctor Who, The Avengers, The Brothers, The Mallens, Rumpole of the Bailey, Piece of Cake, The Winning Streak, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, This Life, The Bill and regular roles in Doomwatch, The Regiment, Bad Girls, Robin Hood and Stella.

On the big screen he has been in Decline and Fall…of a Birdwatcher, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, A Touch of Class, One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing, The French Lieutenant's Woman, Half Moon Street, Crimestrike, Dot the I, 7 Lives, The Iron Lady and Rare Beasts.

Stage roles include The Winter’s Tale, Tishoo, Love On the Plastic, The Secret Life, A Penny for a Song, Jumpers, The Country Wife, Gentleman Prefers Blondes, A Midsummer's Night Dream, Troilus and Cressida, The Jungle Book, The Woman Hater and What Every Woman Knows.
