Michael John Elphick (born 19th September 1946 in Chichester, died 7th September 2002 in Willesden, London) appeared on Coronation Street in January 1974 as landlord and letting agent, Douglas Wormold.
Best known for his eponymous title role in the long-running 1980s ITV drama series Boon, his other television credits included roles in The Roads to Freedom, Adam Smith, New Scotland Yard, Crown Court, The Nearly Man, Holding On, This Year Next Year, The Antagonists, Private Schulz, Roger Doesn't Live Here Anymore, Bloomfield, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, Pull the Other One, Jenny's War, Three Up Two Down, Stanley and the Women, Harry, David Copperfield, Metropolis, The Bill and EastEnders.
Film roles included Fraulein Doktor, Cry of the Banshee, And Now the Screaming Starts!, The First Great Train Robbery, Quadrophenia, The Elephant Man, Privates on Parade, Curse of the Pink Panther, Gorky Park, Valhalla and Out of Bounds.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Hamlet, A Close Shave, The Changing Room, The Cherry Orchard, Measure for Measure, The Ticket-of-Leave Man, Pygmalion and Loot.
